Plastic
dir. Ethan Feldbau
19:25 minutes
The fantastic cautionary tale of a neglected special education student, who spends his adolescence reshaping himself to be more like the bullies of his childhood. This experimental “camp tragedy” explores the ties between events of his past and his symbolic actions in the present, giving indication that those wounded in youth endlessly seek redemption. By mixing psychoanalysis with camp style and expressionist imagery, Plastic is a poetic fable that is both informative, and utterly entrancing.
