Short Circuit is a distribution network specializing in presenting radical underground short films in cinematic spaces. Our model functions to disseminate these works in both a local and national format, creating dynamic environments where filmmakers can connect with audiences and each other.

How does it work?

By featuring local filmmakers in each city we tour, we invite people to meet, discover each other's work, and bring more people into the circuit. By touring the program, those filmmakers get to have their films screened in cinemas and other unique cinematic spaces all over the country.

Why do we believe in the cinematic experience?

This is where film has its greatest emotional impact. Conversation, collaboration, and revolution happen when people come together to create and be part of a shared experience.

What kinds of films can you expect to see?

Unusual, beautiful, fun, dark, radical, weird or culturally relevant films are what make the Short Circuit. We screen investigations in visual storytelling that entertain or challenge. It doesn't matter what the agenda of the film is. What we care about is film that is provoking and important.

Short Circuit is an ongoing experiment.

As Short Circuit grows and evolves we hope to find more ways to support filmmakers doing unusual and innovative work.
